Changes to Portland Garbage Depot

Portland Garbage Depot’s opening hours will change from Friday, 8 May 2026.

The new hours from Friday, 8 May 2026 are:

• Sunday, Monday, Tuesday – Closed
• Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday – 8.30am to 4pm (no entry after 3.30pm)
• Public holidays – Closed

The new hours are in preparation of supervision and additional resource recovery services. These hours are aimed at keeping the facility available and affordable for rural residents.

Please remember that rural facilities are for rural residents. Only waste that is generated in the Lithgow Local Government Area by rural residents and that complies with the sign at the entrance to the facility is accepted in Council’s rural facilities.
