Council is in receipt of a development application to repurpose the former Portland Hospital site through the creation of commercial use, including: a medical centre, a childcare centre, a café, a laundromat and a co-living residential development. The redevelopment will involve a combination of extensive refurbishment of existing buildings, selective demolition of redundant structures, and the construction of new buildings and infrastructure.

The application and plans are on display for a period of 28 Days until 6 November 2026, to assist you in this matter if you wish to make a written submission. The application is available to be viewed in the Council Administration Centre, 180 Mort Street, Lithgow, free of charge, during office hours or alternatively can be viewed on Council’s website.

Anyone can make a submission regarding the application. Submissions must be:

• Marked “DA126/26”

• Sent to Council’s email – council@lithgow.nsw.gov.au OR posted/delivered to Council’s Administration Building at 180 Mort Street, Lithgow.

• Received by Council by no later than 4pm 6 November 2026.
